Meet YuChieh
Life doesn't just happen to you.
You receive everything in your life based on what you've given.
Hi! My name is Yuchieh, an UI / UX designer based in Los Angeles and Taiwan.
I am currently studying Media Design Practices at ArtCenter College of Design and received my bachelor’s degree from the Design program at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
I consider myself lively and cheerful but attentive, especially focusing on subject’s of people’s emotions and body health and figuring out problems with a variety of creative design methods.
On the school bus filled with low-spirit hearing-impaired primary school students, a cute turtle with a six-pack appears on the bus window. Its interaction with the students instantly lit up the mood on the bus. Whenever I think about this Chatty School Bus project carried on by the Hyundai Motor Group back in 2016 when I first began my bachelor studies, I feel inspired and encouraged. The humanistic care, warmth, and attention to students' needs displayed along the way perfectly match my design philosophy.
My life goal is to become a socially responsible designer, the kind that Victor Josef Papanek described in his 2013 book, Design for the Real World, creating projects with humanistic concerns similar to the Chatty School Bus, expanding my possibilities, breaking gender roles, contributing my knowledge to make a better world filled with well-being and happiness
